Pastor
Very Rev. Fr. Joel Gillam Fr. Joel Gillam grew up in New Orleans, LA. He is a graduate of the University of New Orleans where he received a Bachelor of General Studies. He then attended St. Vladimir Seminary in Crestwood, NY, where he received an M. Div. degree. He was ordained to the Diaconate in December 2001, and to the Priesthood in 2002. Upon graduation from the Seminary he was sent to pastor the parish of St. George in New Kensington for 8 years, until August of 2010, when he became the pastor at St. George in Upper Darby. In 2011 he was raised to the dignity of Archpriest by Bp. THOMAS (Joseph). In addition to parish ministry Fr. Joel has been an advisor to the Diocesan SOYO/Teens, chaplain to several Orthodox Christian Fellowships, and is the current Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor for the annual College Conference (East), Young Adult Spiritual Advisor for the Diocese, and serves as one of the 'camp priests' for the Antichian Village Summer Camp. With Peter Schweitzer Fr. Joel co-authored the article "Evangelism 2.0: Modern Communication leads to Ancient Faith and Communion" Deacon
